Who can undergo teeth whitening?
The majority of people with healthy teeth can have have a DepiCool teeth whitening treatment. There are some dental and health conditions which mean you would not be able to have this treatment.
It is not possible to undergo this treatment in the following cases:
- During pregnancy or while breastfeeding
- If you are a minor
- If you are allergic to peroxide
The following conditions will normally mean we cannot give treatment:
- Cavities
- Inflamed gums
- Hypersensitive teeth or gums
- Open enamel junction
- If you have dental implants, porcelain inserts or other
- If you are suffering from enamel loss or deficiency
- If your teeth are very dark and we judge that the potential whitening may not be satisfactory
- If you have damaged your teeth recently, especially if bleeding has taken place in the tooth
- If there are fissures in the teeth
- If you have gum disease it is necessary to cure this before having a whitening treatment
- If you have a dental abnormality which would prevent effective treatment
